PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, apparatus and article of manufacture for using document separator sheets. SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the method comprises steps of scanning a plurality of sheets having a plurality of documents to be added to one or more collections; and identifying the start of each of the plurality of documents based on a separator page preceding each of the plurality of documents.
