PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reducing a fretting friction produced by a minute slidable movement of the rear surface of a backing metal of a sliding bearing on the inner surface of a housing. SOLUTION: In this sliding bearing stored in the housing and supporting a rotating shaft, a coating layer of amorphous-like carbon including droplets is generated on the contact surfaces of both the housing and the sliding bearing or the contact surface of either of the housing and the sliding bearing.
