PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device with an actuated object such as a transmission device assisted and actuated by an actuator in linkage with the operation of a manual lever, for operating the actuated object such as the transmission device actuated by the manual lever even if a trouble occurs in the actuator. SOLUTION: The operating device uses an electric motor 201 which is driven in accordance with a detection value for the operation position of a shift lever, for actuating a trunnion shaft 121 of a HST 5 while transmitting the driving force of the electric motor to the trunnion shaft 121 via a turn supporting shaft 117, a rod 120, a trunnion arm 122, and a brake pad 205. When a trouble occurs in the electric motor 201, the shift lever 110 is operated without depending on the driving force to actuate the trunnion shaft 121 via the turn shaft 117 slidable on the side face of a large-diameter driven gear 203 directly connected to the rotating shaft of the electric motor 201, the rod 120 and the trunnion arm 122.
