PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power generating apparatus where electric power for driving a sensor node is generated within the sensor node. SOLUTION: A sensor node includes a coil section 210, having a spiral and planar structure for generating AC currents, a rectifying section 212 for converting the generated AC currents into DC currents, and an IC chip 214 for performing a prescribed operations using converted DC electric currents. Since magnetic fields, generated by household electrical appliances or the like equipped with sensor nodes, are converted into AC currents and then the AC currents are converted into DC currents, the sensor nodes need not be equipped with batteries.
