<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup which can adequately adjust the intensity of each of a plurality of laser beams simultaneously radiated from a plurality of light sources, without increasing cost and a size. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with; one front monitor 28 which receives parts of laser beams L1 and L2 emitted from LDs 37a and 37b and outputs monitor voltages proportional to quantities of the received beams; and an LPC part 14 which generates SH signals according to each of a first-a fifth light-emission states in which one of the laser beams emitted from the LD 37a and 37b is different, computes a plurality of monitor voltages obtained by performing the sample-holding of the monitor voltages in the timing of the plurality of SH signals to find the light quantity of each laser beam received by the front monitor 28, and adjusts the intensity of a laser beam emitted based on the obtained light quantity to prescribed target intensity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
