<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant silicone rubber particularly for a cable insulating material without conventional defects and a cable insulating material which is particularly flame-retardant and capable of maintaining its functions at a low density in case of fire. <P>SOLUTION: The flame-retardant silicone rubber composition contains a silicone rubber with peroxide cross-linking property, addition cross-linking property or condensation cross-linking property, and one or both of a rhodium and iridium compound. A cable and profiles containing the flame-retardant composition exhibit characteristic features comparable with those of a conventional silicone rubber in mechanical and electrical properties and thermal aging resistance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
