<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of reducing a running cost by optimizing cleaning web consumption, thereby prolonging the life of a web, even in the case where the fixing device is structured to rotate a heat roller during a standby period. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device is designed such that control is exerted to rotate a fixing body and a pressure body when heating the fixing body by a heating means. In the fixing device, when the fixing body is heated by the heating means and the fixing body and pressure body are rotated, the control of a web conveyance control means is made different according to a copying period in which an unfixed image is fixed to a recording medium, a rise period in which the temperature of the fixing body is increased to a copying temperature and a standby period in which copying is ready. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
