PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size, in the external diameter direction and optical axis direction, of an entire lens barrel in a video camera and digital camera in which a zoom lens and focal lens are linearly driven or an attached camera of a portable digital assistant, such as a portable telephone or photographing products. SOLUTION: Coils 42, 52, magnets 45, 55, yokes 44, 54 which are components of a linear motor 41 for zooming for a zoom movable body 31 and a linear motor 51 for focusing for a focus movable body 33 are arranged atop an outside surface of the lens barrel 20 or on one side in the same direction as a direction normal to the moving direction of the zoom movable body 31 and the focus movable body 33 so that the size in the radial direction and axial direction of the lens barrel 20 is reduced.
