PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winch with a manual operation safety mechanism with high security in an emergency such as power failure. SOLUTION: The winch with the manual operation safety mechanism has a shaft 23 serving as a rotary drive shaft, and an electromagnetic brake 10. The shaft 23 has fixing devices 13a, 23a for fixing a manual handle at an end part thereof. An inner driver 7 and the manual handle 11 is respectively provided with thrust force generation mechanisms 7a, 14a for moving the inner driver 7 along the shaft with rotation of the shaft when the manual handle 11 is fixed on a shaft end part to rotate the manual handle. The inner driver overcomes force of a return spring by the thrust force, and an armature 3 pressed against a brake disk 1 is separated from the brake disk 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
