PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper container for a liquid having a gloss-processed portion and a precise matted portion on a surface of a polyethylene layer or the like, and capable of working with high productivity at a low cost. SOLUTION: The paper container for the liquid comprises a printing layer provided by offset-printing on a laminate, a ground printing layer provided partially or entirely on the surface of the printing layer by offset-printing, and an overcoat layer provided on the surface of the printing layer and the ground printing layer by coating to make a portion overlapping the ground printing layer of the overcoat layer matted and the other portion gloss-processed. The printing layer and the ground printing layer are layers including electron-beam- or ultraviolet-curing ink cured by radiating electron beams or ultraviolet rays. The overcoat layer includes an electron-beam- or ultraviolet-curing coating agent cured by radiating electron beams or ultraviolet rays.
