PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for manufacturing a core, which can shorten the time necessary for manufacturing the core and can cut down the supply volume of a hardening gas, in the method for manufacturing the core on the basis of gas hardening process. SOLUTION: The core manufacturing system comprises a mold (1) for forming the core, a hardening gas supplying means for supplying the hardening gas (8) into the mold (1), an exhausting means (exhaust valve 5) for exhausting air or the hardening gas (8) from the mold (1), and a controlling means (10). The hardening gas supplying means comprises an air heater (2), a hardening gas vaporizing device (3) and a gassing head (4). The controlling means (10) is designed to control the opening or closing of the exhausting means (exhaust valve 5) so that the streamline (F) of the hardening gas (8) flowing inside the mold (1) is made to meander or diffuse.
