A bus-bar assembly for use in a flameproof switchgear unit, comprises three electrically isolated parallel bus-bars 1, 2 and 3 which are embedded in insulating material 4, and lateral connectors 5, 6 and 7 extending from the bus-bars outwardly through the insulation, all emerging on the same side, a peripheral flange 8 or 9 being formed of the insulating material at each end of the assembly to make a flameproof seal when the assembly is mounted on a complementary wall surface. The busbars project at each end into a recess in the insulation and are formed with either plug or socket contacts 17 and 18 to mate with corresponding members of the switchgear. The flanges 8 and 9 have projections 13 and 14 which engage in keyways in mounting members 11. |
