<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve versatility by realizing the facilitation of the effective utilization of a space part in accordance with a necessary function and facilitating the change of specification concerning the processing of a recording medium on which an image has been already formed. <P>SOLUTION: A projection shape of a functional unit 7 to a front side is made the same as the space part 4 of the image forming apparatus 100, and projection shapes in the front-and-rear direction of the functional unit 7 are made uniform.
