PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission system, in particular, for a starter-alternator, capable of both of damping large variations in torque under starting conditions (drive from alternator) and of providing effective decoupling under running condition (alternator driven). SOLUTION: At least one decoupler element 502 is mounted between a central hub 503 and a rim 501 on which a driving belt is hung to provide optimized stiffness. In addition, the decoupler element is associated with at least one deflection limiter portion to form a resilient decoupling assembly. The deflection limiter portion has two components, that is, a central plate 512 secured to an outside face of the central hub and abutments 514 regularly distributed around the periphery of an inside face of the rim, the central plate is connected with the abutments, and the abutments and the plate are shaped so as to come into deforming contact.
