PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system capable of performing a flow of a series of operations to be performed in both an image forming apparatus and an information processing apparatus, only by operating the image forming apparatus simply. SOLUTION: An MFP 2 is provided with a scanner 21, a printer 23, a workflow memory unit 24 for storing workflows, a workflow selector 25 for selecting a workflow, a workflow execution controller 26 for making the MFP 2 or a PC 3 perform an operation described in the selected workflow, and an MFP execution controller 22 for operating the scanner 21 and the printer 23 based on directions from the workflow controller 26. The PC 3 is provided with an application memory unit 35 for storing programs, an application executor 36 for performing a program, and an application execution controller 34 for making the executor 36 perform the program based on directions from the workflow controller 26.
