PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can favorably drive a photoreceptor while suppressing cleaning failure even when a toner by polymerization method is used. SOLUTION: A cleaning blade 133 used is entirely fixed to a holder 132 so that the end to be in contact with a photoreceptor 101 does not protrude from a free end of the holder 132, and the blade has 60 to 80 [°] JIS-A hardness. The blade is pressed under≥1 [MPa] pressure to the counter direction of the photoreceptor 101 in such a manner that a contact angle which is the angle between the tangential line on the surface of the photoreceptor 101 with the blade and the surface of two surfaces of the blade opposing to the photoreceptor 101 is controlled to 15 to 45 [°].
