PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch for requiring a smaller or shorter axial installation space without using an axial movement restricting component and reducing the axial width of a sprag. SOLUTION: The one-way clutch 5 comprises an outer cage (a cage) 5b having a plurality of pocket holes 5b1 in the circumferential direction, the plurality of sprags 5a held in the pocket holes 5b1, and a spring 5d for energizing the sprags 5a in the direction of meshing with an outer ring 1 and an inner ring 3. The sprags 5a are fitted into sprag fitting grooves 1b provided in an inner diameter face 1a of the outer ring 1 in a tilting operable manner for restricting the axial movement of the one-way clutch 5.
