PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition for animal that is very effective for extermination of ectoparasites, for example, flea with a small amount of insecticidal component. SOLUTION: The shampoo composition for animal comprises (A) 1 to 50 mass% of an anionic surfactant, (B) 0.1 to 10 mass% of a polyether type quaternary ammonium salt represented by general formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>3</SP>are each a 1-3C alkyl and they may be identical or different each other; m+n=5 to 100 and m=0 to 3, X is a halogen atom or CH<SB>3</SB>SO<SB>4</SB>and m/(m+n)<0.2) and (C) 0.001 to 1 mass% of an insecticidal component.
