PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string tying device and a method for tying various knots. SOLUTION: In this string tying device, two passages are formed of a groove composed of a plurality of patterns and formed on an end surface of the patterns; both end of the respective passages are opened on an end surface without contacting the mutual patterns; and an inlet and an outlet are respectively formed; and after introducing different strings to the respective passages, the respective strings are tied outside the groove by separating the mutual patterns.
