PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body side part structure for realizing a more ideal mode control and a strength characteristic by simultaneously generating two opposite internal forces of compression and tension in a vertical direction frame member at a collision initial stage. SOLUTION: This structure is provided with inward bulkhead 20 and outward bulkhead 21 for connecting a load inputting part I and a load supporting base part B. The structure is provided with a load input converting means K1 for generating compressive force fc on an upper side from an input point P of collision load F and generating tension ft on a lower side from the input point P of the collision load F, in relation to the longitudinal direction of a center pillar 3, when side surface collision load F acts on the center pillar 3 in the vehicle width direction. As a result, the two opposite internal forces of compression and tension are simultaneously generated in the center pillar 3 to make an early rise of load at the collision initial stage and securing of strength of the latter half of the collision compatible, and the more ideal mode control and strength characteristic are realized.
