PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving bed type filtering apparatus which avoids the clogging at the outer peripheral part of a filter medium layer due to the deposit of a suspended material by accelerating the surfacing of the filter medium at the outer peripheral part of the filter medium layer. SOLUTION: The moving bed type filtering apparatus has a system of forming the filter medium layer 3 floating at the lower part by arranging an angle cross section screen 2 of which the center becomes the peak in the filtration tank 1, thereby passing a supplied raw water through the filter medium layer 3 from the upper part to the lower part to filtrate and returning the filtering medium 31 to the filtration tank 1 again after withdrawing a part of the filtering medium 31 by a filtering medium withdrawing tube 44 having an opening at the peak of the screen 2 to the outside of the filter medium layer 3 below the peak together with the raw water to purify. An obstruction member 51 which occupies a constant area at the cross section center part of the filter medium layer 3 is installed.
