PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight container with excellent air-tightness, capable of preventing loosening of an inner lid and absorbing the errors in dimensions both in the vertical and horizontal directions. SOLUTION: The airtight container comprises a container body 1 with a cosmetic material storage recess 1a on the upper surface, a lid body 2 for covering the whole container body 1 and the inner lid 4 capable of covering only the cosmetic material storage recess 1a air-tightly when the lid is closed; and screw parts 1b and 2a are formed in the container body 1 and the lid body 2 respectively. The airtight container also has an inner lid holder 5 which is rotatably connected to the container body 1. A through hole 22c is bored in the inner lid holder, and the inner lid 4 is slackly inserted into the through hole 22c in such a way as movable in the vertical and horizontal directions. When the lid is closed, the container body 1 and the lid body 2 are screw-engaged with each other with the through hole 22c of the inner lid holder 5 positioned on the upper side of the cosmetic material storage recess 1a. The inner lid 4 is forced into the cosmetic material storage recess 1a side by the lid body 2 with this screw-engagement, and the cosmetic material storage recess 1a only is air-tightly covered by the inner lid 4.
