PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector for performing geometric correction of an image projected on a screen so as to improve the quality of an observed image by a simple, small and inexpensive configuration. SOLUTION: The image projection apparatus 1 includes an image display element 2 and projection optical systems 3, 4, 5, 6 by which an image displayed on the image display element 2 is projected onto the screen 7, wherein the projection optical systems are provided with at least optical-characteristics-variable optical means 11 and 12 for optically performing geometric correction of the image projected on the screen 7.
