<p>A sealing device (1) installed in an installation groove (4) formed in one member (2) of two members (2) and (3) opposed to each other and fitted to the other member (3). The sealing device comprises a seal ring (11) and a backup ring (21) disposed on the low pressure side thereof. The installation groove (4) comprises a sloped bottom surface (4c), and the backup ring (21) comprises a sloped surface (21a). The damage of the seal ring (11) formed of a rubber-like elastic body by the backup ring (21) formed of a hard material can be suppressed in the sealing device. A second backup ring (31) is disposed between the seal ring (11) and the backup ring (21), and the second backup ring (31) used is formed of a material softer than that of the backup ring (21).</p> |
