<p>Permeabilizing a biological membrane (especially of a living cell) to allow passage of a nanoscalar foreign body (especially DNA) from a solution impinging on the membrane involves: (a) putting the bodies into solution so that they move freely and have a nanometric cross-section; and (b) producing a field penetrating the solution and affecting the nanoparticles so that they interact with the membrane to produce a local permeability for at least a short time. An independent claim is also included for use of nanotubes, nanoneedles or nanoglobules obtained from carbon in producing permeability in a biological membrane (especially of a living cell).</p> |
