METHOD OF DETECTING REPEATED POLYMORPHISM IN HUMAN HEPARIN/HEPARAN SULFATE BINDING PROTEIN AND UTILIZATION OF THE SAME

A method of detecting a repeated polymorphism in a gene encoding a human heparin/heparan sulfate binding protein characterized by comprising using a multistage polymerase chain reaction involving the amplification stage with the use of a primer having a sequence that is designed so as to contain the intron of the above-described gene; and a reagent for the detection method as described above which comprises (1) primers for the first stage amplification consisting of (a) a forward primer having a sequence that is designed so as to contain the third intron of a gene encoding a human heparin/heparan sulfate binding protein and (b) a reverse primer that is designed as being the fourth exon thereof; and (2) primers for the second stage amplification consisting of (c) a forward primer that is designed as being the fourth exon thereof and (d) a reverse primer that is designed as being the fourth exon thereof.
