<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an elevator for restraining a capacity increase in a PWM inverter device, even when using a permanent magnet type synchronous electric motor for an elevator driving motor. <P>SOLUTION: An emergency stopping test operation permitting means 8 is arranged in the PWM inverter device 50, and a permission signal A is generated only when a magnet (N-pole) phase of the permanent magnet type synchronous electric motor 7 is in the vicinity of 30°+n×60° (n is an integer), and flowing of an excessive electric current to a switching element of a PWM inverter 54 is checked by performing action confirming test operation of an emergency stopping device 6 only when the permission signal A is generated, and energy-saving and miniaturization can be enjoyed without risk of a cost increase by using the permanent magnet type synchronous electric motor 7 without increasing capacity of the PWM inverter device 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
