BACKLIGHT SYSTEM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight system and a liquid crystal display device using it.

SOLUTION: This backlight system is provided with a plurality of light emitting devices arranged on a base plate to form a plurality of light emitting device lines and a light guide plate having a sidewall separated from the light emitting devices, wherein light entering from the light emitting device side through the sidewall is expanded by internal reflection to form a scattering region on a side near the base plate, and the light entering the scattering region is diffusely reflected to be emitted to an opposite side to the base plate.
