PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure positioning of an optical fiber cable relative to a reference surface, in performing machining such as cutting and removing of a coating for an optical fiber exposed at the end of an optical fiber cable. SOLUTION: The optical fiber holder 10 is equipped with a pair of side walls 13, 13 whose relative position is fixed mutually and elastic pieces 14, 14, ... which are projectingly provided inside these side walls 13, 13, wherein the elastic pieces 14 projected from one side wall 13 of the pair and those projected from the other side wall 13 are installed in a manner tilted in the same longitudinal direction along the optical fiber cable 1 held by these elastic pieces 14, 14. This optical fiber holder 10 allows the movement of the optical fiber cable 1 in one direction longitudinally along the cable 1 and prevents the movement in the other direction opposite from the one direction.
