PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a magnetic recording medium by stable total surface transfer forming using a stamper and to prevent generation of an error in the signal processing of reproduced signals. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium is provided with a servo region 110 having a preamble region 111 in which servo data are recorded to conduct clock synchronization and a data region 100 into which user data can be written by a magnetic head. In the preamble region 111, magnetic sections 121 and non-magnetic sections 122 are formed to record the servo data with a magnetic material containing ratio whose difference with respect to the magnetic material containing ratio of the data region 100 is -10% to +10%.
