PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor with a power saving valve to be stably operated without using a spring or the like. SOLUTION: The scroll compressor comprises a power saving passage for escaping refrigerant from a compression space 18 into a low pressure chamber 10, a capacity control valve 81 for opening/closing the power saving passage, and a back pressure passage 86 for applying back pressure to the capacity control valve 81. The capacity control valve 81 consists of a piston 82 to be moved in a cylinder 79 with back pressure, and a valve plate 83 and a piston valve 84 mounted on the piston 82 for opening/closing the power saving passage.
