PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide uses of alkylguanidines as a cationic emulsifier. SOLUTION: Emulsions comprising cationic emulsifiers, optionally coemulsifiers and optionally customary auxiliaries and additives are provided, wherein the cationic emulsifiers used are at least one compound of general formula (I), (wherein, R1and R2are each independently H or at least one selected from a group consisting of a 1-60C hydrocarbon, hydroxyalkyl and the like, and the sum of the carbon atoms of R1+R2is at least 12; and X-is a salt-forming anion).
