<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device where at least long-term stability of a luminescence characteristic or stability of the luminescence characteristics among individual devices is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device has a first light emitting body 2 and a second light emitting body 1 absorbing light from the first light emitting body 2 and emitting light. An absorption spectrum of a phosphor, which is contained in the second light emitting body 1, satisfies 1≥P(λ)<SB>min</SB>/P(λ)<SB>max</SB>≥0.3. In a formula, P(λ) represents the intensity of the absorption spectrum in wavelength λ. P(λ)<SB>max</SB>represents a maximum value of P(λ) in 400 nm≤λ≤450 nm, and P(λ)<SB>min</SB>represents a minimum of P(λ) in 400 nm≤λ≤450 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
