<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic tester adapted to reduce the amount of a used storage medium for storing therein data produced by the execution of a continuous test. <P>SOLUTION: Each time test is performed, the tail end position of data stored in the storage medium at the time point is acquired and held by an output position hold means 103 prior to the execution of the test. As the test is carried out, a data acquisition means 102 acquires data showing a test result output from a testing object device to store the data in a storage medium 101. Further, a data determination means 104 determines whether anomaly exists or not in data stored in the storage medium 101 and showing the test result. When it is determined that no anomaly exists, an output position control means 105 returns the end position of the data stored in the storage medium 101 to a position where the data are held by the hold means 103.
