PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute stable printing by maintaining the inner pressure of a sub-tank within an appropriate range. SOLUTION: When the inner pressure of the sub-tank, which can expand and shrink corresponding to the change in the total quantity of liquid ink to be stored, displays different changes in that a first change wherein the inner pressure increases as the ink total quantity stored in the sub-tank increases due to hysteresis and a second change which displays a change larger than the first change wherein the inner pressure decreases as the ink total quantity stored in the sub-tank decreases, the inkjet printer has a first step for supplying a specified quantity of ink to the sub-tank to increase the inner pressure of the sub-tank according to the first change, and a second step for decreasing the inner pressure of the sub-tank according to the second change by discharging a specified quantity of the ink from the sub-tank after the first step to vary the inner pressure of the sub-tank to within a range of a specified appropriate value.
