PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weed-proof structure of excellent weed-proof effect and workability with a sheet laid almost flat with fine appearance even with some unevenness of the ground to be weeded out, with no anxiety about a sheet connection part being turned up by wind. SOLUTION: A shading and impervious synthetic resin embossed sheet 1 with a large number of projecting parts 1a alternately formed on both sides of the sheet is laid over the ground surface to be weeded out, e.g., over a shoulder surface 2 or from the shoulder surface 2 to a slope 3, and fixed by fixing pins 4 to constitute the weed-proof structure. Sunlight and rainwater are shut out by the embossed sheet 1 to exhibit the weed-proof effect. Since the embossed sheet 1 is rigid, it can be laid almost flat with fine appearance, and the adjacent embossed sheets 1 can be positively connected so as not to turn up a sheet end by wind by fitting the projecting parts 1a at the ends of the adjacent embossed sheets 1 to each other, and easily fixed by the fixing pins 4.
