PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operation efficiency and keep an image determination reference constant in an image processing apparatus used in a photographic system. SOLUTION: When a photographic system program is started on a personal computer and the program proceeds to a photographic process, a photographic window 60 is displayed on a monitor. Compressed image data transmitted to the personal computer from a digital camera are read in a main part extraction circuit such that a main part such as person's face is extracted. The main part extracted is transmitted to an image determination circuit to determine whether items for determining focus and exposure match the order for a print. The result of the determination is displayed on a focus determination result icon 65 and an exposure determination result icon 66, so that an operator is informed of the determination results.
