摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redundant transmission scheme for simultaneously housing services that dispenses with an auxiliary transmission line system and that have been disabled in a conventional redundant transmission scheme, by solving a problem involved in the conventional redundant transmission scheme, the problem in which a service is interrupted also in a subscriber side unit connected to a normally operating transmission line system due to batch switching to the auxiliary transmission line system. SOLUTION: A point-to-multipoint optical transmission system includes a center side unit connected to a plurality of transmission line systems each constituted of an optical branching element and an optical transmission line medium and a plurality of subscriber side units and performs signal transmission, via the plurality of transmission line systems, between the center side unit and the subscriber units, wherein the center unit includes a signal branching/coupling device, a subscriber side unit registration control section and a plurality of transmitters/receivers, and each of the subscriber side units includes a transmission line system switching device, a subscriber side unit registration switching control section, and a plurality of transmitters/receivers, wherein the subscriber unit switches the plurality of transmission line systems.
