The invention relates to a device that is used to facilitate the insertion of objects under a folded roof in the boot of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the roof ( 1 ) consists of a rear element ( 3 ) which is equipped with a finger bar ( 11 ) that is designed to slide along a rail ( 7 ) comprising a storage section ( 12 ), which is intended to guide the roof ( 1 ) between a deployed position and a folded, stored position, and a raised section ( 17 ), which is intended to guide said roof between a folded, stored position and a folded, raised position. The inventive device comprises a raising member ( 16 ) which moves the above-mentioned finger ( 11 ) along the length of the raised section ( 17 ). Moreover, a locking member ( 23 ) is mounted to the raising member ( 16 ) between an unlocked position and a locked position in which it blocks the auxiliary roof element ( 4, 5 ) in relation to the rear element ( 3 ) when the roof ( 1 ) is moved towards the folded, raised position thereof.
