<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly estimate hydrogen concentration in exhaust gas exhausted from a cathode of a fuel cell 1. <P>SOLUTION: A combustor 8 for burning hydrogen in exhaust gas is provided in an exhaust passage 6 in which the exhaust gas from the fuel cell 1 flows, and an oxygen concentration sensor 10 for detecting the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is provided on the downstream side from the combustor 8. The reduced quantity of the oxygen concentration by combustion is calculated from the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas on the upstream side of the combustor 8, which is predetermined on the basis of operating temperature and operation loading of the fuel cell 1, and the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas on the downstream side of the combustor 8, which is detected by the oxygen concentration sensor 10, and the hydrogen concentration in the exhaust gas from the fuel cell 1 is estimated on the basis of the calculation result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
