<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving initial charging/discharging efficiency and a cycle property as well as an anode used for the battery. <P>SOLUTION: An anode activator layer 12 contains an anode activator, a first polymer with weight average molecular weight of not less than 550,000, and a second polymer with weight average molecular weight of not less than 1,000 and not more than 400,000. Adhesive property between an anode current collector 11 and the anode activator layer 12 is improved by the first polymer. Further, the surface of the anode activator is covered by the second polymer.
