PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner capable of positively carrying out positioning and fixing of an outdoor heat exchanger, capable of improving heat exchange performance, and provided with a rigid outdoor unit casing that does not deform even when it is enabled to house an outdoor heat exchanger and an outdoor blow fan with large capacities. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit of the air conditioner is provided with a locking piece part holding an upper end rim part of the outdoor heat exchanger, and a motor base for an outdoor blower with an upper part one side end fixed to a top board forming one part of the outdoor unit casing.
