PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when the record information of a BDFS format is converted to that of a UDF2.5 format and then recorded, another information recording medium should be prepared to save the original record information temporarily and it takes much time to perform the saving of the original record information due to its large volume. SOLUTION: An optical disk 101 to which signals of the BDFS format are recorded is reproduced by an information reproduction device 202, and only the volume information is converted to that of the UDF2.5 format by a volume information conversion device 204 to be stored in a UDF2.5 information table 205, but the format of information in data area is not converted. After deleting the volume information area of the optical disk, an information recording device 206 writes only the format-converted volume information to a prescribed area in the optical disk 101 but does not change data in the data area.
