PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unitarily manage a configuration change of a storage system to grasp a latest configuration, and to evaluate reliability in advance when performing the configuration change to suppress occurrence of a failure. SOLUTION: In this storage system, when a host 1 is connected to a switch 2, attribute information of an HBA 1a and attribute information of the switch 2 are stored in a connection information storage part 2C by an FDMI (Fabric Device Management Interface) (S1, S2). Each piece of attribute information is associated, and is managed as combination information. A storage device 3 acquires the combination information from the switch 2 (S3, S4), and requests the reliability of combination thereof from a management device 4 (S5). The management device 4 decides the combination of the HBA and the switch (S6), and notifies the storage device 3 about a decision result thereof (S7). When changing a configuration of the storage system, the reliability of the configuration can be confirmed before starting operation by the configuration after the change, so that the occurrence of the failure can be reduced.
