PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve a resource desired by a user from resources distributed to a plurality of servers or the like. SOLUTION: The resource providing system RPS comprises a user agent EG1, an intermediate layer agent EG2, and a resource agent EG3. The user agent EG1 comprises a file acquisition processing part 16 requesting a file FR desired by the user to the intermediate layer agent EG2. The intermediate agent EG2 comprises a file relay part 25 determining the resource agent EG3 which manages the file FR requested from the user agent EG1, and instructing this resource agent EG3 to transmit the file FR to the user.
