PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a powder compact capable of enhancing the productivity while maintaining the same accuracy as the accuracy in a case in which the weight of the total powder compacts is measured. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the powder compact by using a die installed on a mechanical press, the pressure of the press is detected during the molding to determine whether or not the pressure is within a preset range of the limited pressure (S203), the weight of the powder compact is measured when the pressure is determined to be outside the range of the limited pressure (S206), it is determined whether or not the weight is within the range of the specified weight (S207), the powder compact determined to be within the range of the limited pressure or the range of the specified weight is accepted (S204), and the powder compact determined to be outside the range of the specified weight is rejected (S209).
