The present invention relates to a dipleg. The concept of a dipleg is a tubular construction at whose top side solid matter is introduced, which will pile up to a certain height in this vertical tube. A dipleg may, for example, be used as solid matter outlet of a cyclone. The dipleg according to the invention is provided with an additional inlet for matter, allowing the composition of the solid matter in the dipleg to be varied as desired. In this manner the discharge properties and the packed weight of the solid matter in the dipleg can be adjusted with precision.
