<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an function capable of grasping the amount of remaining toner correctly by a user in the image forming apparatus in which an image is formed by using the toner in a so-called electrophotographic system. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a cumulative value calculating section 62. The cumulative value calculating section 62 is designed such that when an increase in the value of a concentration measured by a measuring section 23 upon an instruction from an instructing section 61 is less than a predetermined value from the value of the concentration used for comparison with a reference concentration, resupply of toner by toner supply means 41 and 45Y upon an instruction from an instructing section 23 is ignored to obtain the cumulative value indicating an amount of toner supplied to a developing member 48 from the toner supply means 41 and 45Y.
