PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a package element and a method for fixing a getter, wherein a welding process is unwanted, the getter can be fixed into a package without increasing the number of components, and a cost is advantageously lowered. SOLUTION: The package element comprises a sheet-like getter 5 accommodated in a package 2 which comprises a base 3 and a cap 4. The end of the getter 5 comes into contact with a part of the package 2 between the inside lower face of the cap 4 and the inside upper face of the base 3, to be curved and elastically deformed and to be retained in a dome form or in an aslant state.
