PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for performing time domain channel estimation in a communication system. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the method for performing channel estimation upon a data subcarrier in a system where a pilot is assigned, for each of symbols of a fixed number, to a predetermined subcarrier, a position of a pilot subcarrier is shifted for the unit of symbols of the fixed number between subcarriers, and a plurality of data subcarriers are positioned between the pilot subcarriers adjacent to a time axis. The method includes steps of: inputting channel estimates of pilot subcarriers in a current input symbol; and performing time domain channel estimation for data subcarriers positioned between adjacent pilot subcarriers by linearly interpolating channel estimates of the adjacent pilot subcarriers associated with each of the pilot subcarriers in the current input symbol during a time interval of the current input symbol.
